Employee Referral Program

Finding great employees is tough! Hiring is a potential strain on every growing company. Your employees can really make or break your company. If you’re the owner of your company, just finding time to interview potential hires is tough enough. Searching for those potential candidates can take far more time.

If you already have a few employees, you can open this process up to them by offering an Employee Referral Program.

Offering an employee referral program will incentivize your employees to refer the people they want to work with. What can you give them? Maybe the incentive is a $250, $500 or $1000 bonus based on the position you are hiring for. You could break up the bonus into a couple of tiers.

For example: Let’s say you set up a $1000 bonus for an experienced technician hire. You could give the employee who referred them $500 upon hire and $500 after they meet a 60 or 90 day probationary period.

How much would you pay a recruiter to find a great hire? Depending on the role, it can easly cost thousands of dollars, so this referral program could save you both time and money. In addition, those on your current team know better than anyone else, what it takes to do the job well in our niche industry and will likely make better recommendations than a recruiter.

What if you’re not looking to hire right now?

No problem. Keep in mind, you don’t have to hire them right away. You just need to retain their information for the moment when you are ready to hire. If you can get referrals all year long, not just when you’re hiring, you’ll have a list of people to start with when that moment comes.
